From a nat-sec perspective, it doesn’t look good when we can’t identify new tech, whether it was generated by Russia, PRK, Uncle Cletus in his RFID bunker, or Gleebnix from Zebulon V. It’s in our best interests to remain curious and open-minded. But we should probably look for rational explanations before leaping to the fantastic.

Well put and I agree totally. We don’t know what we don’t know and possibilities in life are endless. Thanks.

Ari,

I am a former air force and air line pilot with over 30,000 hours, much of them spent looking at the night sky. As much as I would like to see a UFO, it has never happened. If I would have seen something, it is difficult to know if I would have reported it.

I have a friend that was the captain of a night flight between Mexico City and Lima Peru. The cockpit crew as well as some of the flight attendants, reported a bright blue object, that appeared to approach their aircraft and suddenly change direction extremely rapidly. This happened numerous times, and from different directions.

The crew did report the incident, and because the captain of the flight provided his name, he was hounded by the media and various kooks for many years. He stated to me, that if he ever saw another, similar, event he wouldn't report it because of how much it disrupted his life.

Here is a link to the sighting:

Were you actively looking for them while in flight? I'm no pilot but an active skygazer. I have two experiences. Both with multiple witnesses and in daylight. Craziest things ever. Once as a child, the other a few years back. The craft were not similar and no TV or YouTube video that I seen match them although similar.

On long overseas flights, there is plenty of time to look at the night sky. I have seen some wonderful events in the air, such as meteorites and comets, that looked fantastic at that altitude.

Unfortunately, every unusual sky event I have seen, has been something with an easy explanation.

Do we really think we are the only intelligent species in the whole huge endless universe? No, the odds are against this theory.

Maybe theses UFOs don’t want us to see them and when we have it’s by accident and that’s the reason for the blurry photos or videos. Even pilots, thousands of feet up, have never taken clear videos. So how do you expect our little cell phones to pick them up?

They may not want to interfere with our evolution and evolving technology.

Many people would literally freak out and panic if these *aliens* actually made themselves known. 👽Too many of our Si/Fi movies portray these creatures as scary and violent.

I believe the government knows more than they are admitting. They are now releasing these UFO sightings to normalize & to ease people into accepting UFOs. Can’t keep it a secret or deny it forever.

If these UFOs were a danger they would have invaded us a long time ago. They would have tried to influence us for their own benefit. But they didn’t.

We are being watched and maybe monitored (eg: to make sure we don’t blow ourselves up, lol). Who knows, they may not think much of our guardianship duties. We are not treating our beautiful planet Earth with the care it needs. Maybe we need their help?!

Hopefully, in time we will have more answers.

But for sure,

WE ARE NOT ALONE!

If only we could make that an obvious call for help to save🌎

Yes, our beautiful planet is on *Code Red* and we may need help from a much more evolved alien civilization, if they really exist.

There is a theory that all the planets in our solar system are reliant on each other. So if and we destroy or burn out our planet and make it inhabitable it may shift things in the solar system and force an alien civilization to intercede before it’s too late. Sounds crazy… but the unknown usually is! Would be nice to have someone have our backs. I’m an eternal optimist & will never give up hope 💖

Hi Ari. Missed you. I have wondered about alien visits. "Crop Circles" and other phenomenal events that appeared mysteriously could be aliens. If aliens why no contact? Maybe we have not grown in intelligence and love. Why should ET contact us? But maybe we are growing in compassion and love to be able to accept the unknown.

I don’t believe that in this great big universe that we are the only beings.

While we may not encounter or see them, doesn’t mean they don’t exist..

Our technology here on earth is not advanced. I’m sure we have and are being visited by other beings or creatures. This have been going on for year.

Don’t expect the government to talk about this, they won’t.

Explain the UFO crash of 1941 near Cape Girardeau and the Roswell crash of 1947 did they really happen?

There is so much we don’t know. I can only say I believe there is more intelligent life out there in the Universe, be it aliens, supernatural beings or other humans that looks just like us.

We are definitely not the only ones.

Short version: about 30 years ago I twice saw a UFO hovering over the freeway near a Rocketdyne facility on the outskirts of L.A. (About 3AM both times, mid-week, mid-winter). I stopped on the shoulder and looked up. It was an object, flying, and unidentified but the red and white FAA configuration of lights on the front of the black, large wing-shaped object made me pretty certain it wasn't piloted by aliens. Took me about a decade to figure out what it was: the Aurora Project plane. The one the government says doesn't exist. But what was bizarre was it made zero -- as in zero -- noise while hovering. Or while cruising off at maybe 15 MPH. Still have no clue what the propulsion system was that allowed it to hover and cruise so incredibly slowly. Especially dead silent. (Side note: the test pilot(s) could have taken off and flown to Area 51 or wherever completely unseen, but apparently decided to have fun and mess with the heads of the few people out at that time. Sure messed with mine!).

Here are links to a previously mentioned researchgate.net document as well as another one that includes specific comments regarding the 30 June 2021 show that discussed UFO’s and the government assessment on unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) released 5 days earlier:

According to an August 2019 Gallup poll, one-third of Americans think some UFOs have been alien spacecraft visiting Earth from other planets or galaxies. There is also concern that such phenomena, more broadly called unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) might represent a national security threat. It was then of great public interest when, on June 25, 2021, the unclassified document titled Preliminary Assessment: Unidentified Aerial Phenomena was released by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence along with video footage from U.S. Navy pilots showing UAP in flight.

Subsequent media coverage noted that very little was learned from the unclassified 9-page report and a July 8-9 public opinion poll revealed that 60% of registered voters who were surveyed believed “the government is withholding information about the military's observations of UAPs.”

Lost in all of this is what one might conclude from a close analysis of the report about the UAP Task Force (UAPTF) that is responsible for identifying and analyzing UAP and the House and Senate Intelligence Committees responsible for oversight. Indeed, an independent analysis posted at researchgate.net uncovered a number of deficiencies in the preliminary UAP assessment:

1. Problems with definitions

2. Limited statistical information

3. An insufficient classification scheme

4. Problems with data collection, verification, and analysis

5. Non-compliance with Senate Intelligence Committee requests

So perhaps instead of worrying about UAP, we should start worrying about the effectiveness of our government to obtain, analyze, and report information, as well as the ability of congress to exercise oversight authority in this area.

Dr. Tyson mentioned probable flukes in our recording software as well as hardware -- why do UFOs seem to have a predilection for US navy pilots?! In addition, from a different perspective, the universe is billions years old -- what is the probability that some signal is coming to YOUR eyeball or camera right now? Oh, because there are "billions and billions" of stars (R.I.P. Carl Sagan), therefore multiplying that factor by the time factor, all should cancel out? I don't think so.

A good analogy I think for Dr. Tyson's explanation: if you sit still, you often see squiggly floaters on your eyeball. If you interpret what you "see" as not floaters, but transparent squiggly worms OUT IN THE AIR a few feet from where you are sitting, that's analogous to flying objects (often defying the laws of motion: acceleration; changes of direction with deceleration; etc.) just beyong your reach. Folks, those are floaters, and the glitches in our soft- and hardware can explain this.

Ellie Arroway: You know, there are four hundred billion stars out there, just in our galaxy alone. If only one out of a million of those had planets, and just of out of a million of those had life, and just one out of a million of those had intelligent life; there would be literally millions of civilizations out there.

Palmer Joss: [looking the night sky] Well, if there wasn't, it'll be an awful waste of space.

Ellie Arroway: [looking him] Amen.

Contact is one of my favorite movies and is worth seeing. It not only asks the question of are we alone, but also delves into conversations on faith and science in a very thoughtful way. I'm not sure we have no proof of alien existence. Probably more like not shared proof. I mean, the Pentagon is just now releasing that report, even though it's most likely not new information.

Did you go to the Arecibo Observatory?

god created all things, he gave us life, and we have 'a spirit' we too are spiritual beings, god is spirit, jesus is the word of god that became flesh for us to give us spiritual understanding and victory over all things. jesus gives us spiritual sight and understanding when we invite him into our life. the 'things' in space doesn't harm us, in actual fact they do good, they are angels, all wisdom and intelligence belongs to god and comes from god, we are spiritual and god's word renews our mind, and we can understand the spiritual side

Heb 11 Now faith is the [a]substance of things hoped for, the [b]evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.

3 By faith we understand that the [c]worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

I don't understand why nobody ever mentions the (likely?) notion that the universe has indeed been populated by intelligent life forms many times; but in each case, their IQ developed far beyond their EQ - therefore, all those super-intelligent beings were emotionally ill-equipped to escape self-annihilation; in other words, evolution appears to favor self-interest (ultimately sociopathic) over empathy, and, as George Carlin put it (over ten tears ago), our species is just circling the drain.
