Hi Ari! Huge fan; watch your show every night. I am not a Jersey Girl but I think The Boss needs his own ice cream flavor so I vote for Rocky Thunder Road. Thanks, Sharon Miller
Ari watch you everyday and my Mother and I love ALL your knowledge. Did you know Alex Trebek’s favorite rap group was The Beatsie Boys? No sleep till Brooklyn was his jam! Ben and Jerry should have aTriple Chocolate and Expresso ice cream, No Sleep Till..... Thanks and Great show Today. Have you ever had or asked Willie (Nelson) to join the beat?
After living through the past several years of completely exhausting insanity and geeking out on news and politics, I find your balance of smart, important journalism mixed in with light hearted fun soooo refreshing. How about Purple Brain Freeze for a new ice cream flava?
Hi Ari, great show on Friday. Dylan has a great anti-war song called "With God on Their Side". The Neville Bros. did a haunting version of it. I recently produced and played on my version of Gil Scot Heron's "Winter in America", one of my favorite protest songs. I'd be happy to post a link if that's ok. I sent one on your Twitter page. Thanks.
You asked our favorite ice cream and a song to go with it. Definitely, Chunky Monkey is my fave! I think "The Lion Sleeps Tonight " works well with the "monkey theme." I REALLY enjoy your show each evening...thank you for your honest and intelligent reporting daily!!! :o)
Thank you Ari!! I am a big fan of The Beat and look forward to your newsletter. I know I can count on strait up reporting and some good music thrown in. Thank you for keeping it real.
Ari....it's Billie Jean. I am with Paula Franklin and the group below, that will be protesting in New York on Thursday regarding the root causes of pandemics! Please consider covering this most important topic on your show. Bob would be proud.
a small point for clarification - I often hear guests discussing the 1994 as an instrument of oppression against Black people and attach blame to those who may have voted for it (i.e. Biden). As I remember, the crack wars were dominating Black low-income neighborhoods, ripping them apart, exploding the murder rate and the number of innocents injured. It was not the white citizenry being hurt, pleading for intervention. That was the genesis. That it had unanticipated and unjust effects is beyond debate. That legislation imperfectly accomplishes it's mission should generate a degree of humility, not blame.
It is an instrument of oppression, but that's not the whole story. There was initial support within the community. I remember rappers collaborating on both coasts to discuss this in songs "Self Destruction" and "We're All in the Same Gang" a few years leading up to that bill. It definitely had unjust effects that were unanticipated by many who supported it.
Hey Ari and staff- Just wrapped up clinical now on way to meet some students I volunteer to get their GED- I am not into rap but enjoy the artists insight and now listen to Ludicrous, Martin Craft, etc. My students watch your show sometimes, initially because of the rap and hip hop and now we discuss political topics. Good job Ari and staff. I would personally ask that you have a wider spectrum of artists on your show like James Whiteside frim the American Ballet Theatre. He pushes boundaries and would have great political insight. Do not spread yourself to thin Ari.
Appreciate that, and we're definitely keeping an ear out for new artists and yes, all across the spectrum! I don't think we've had too many dancers on the show, interesting idea
Thanks Ari- Not to oversell this but as I moved out of my comfort zone and learned to appreciate hip/hop- I will be 40 in three years so can still appreciate hip hop- look up James on FB or the internet and I think you will be impressed. Take care.
Peter makes a good point. There are a lot of very socially conscience activists in the jazz community here in NYC. Arturo O'Farrill is one I would recommend.

you asked for our favorite protest song...Waist Deep in the Big Muddy, a 55 year old by Pete Seeger
Hi Ari, I'm not sure if I'm in the right place, but my favorite political song is Ball of Confusion, by The Temptations.

Hi. Ari - I watch you everyday. Your show is unique in how you bring people from different eras and backgrounds together and I enjoy watching that.
Hello! Thanks for your always fantastic reporting and I’m looking forward to the upcoming newsletters!
Can't wait.

re: Root Cause of Pandemic. Media is ignoring. This is unconscionable and a dereliction of journalistic duties. We are begging.
Ari we need you and your colleagues to report this event happening tomorrow and cover the topic extensively https://www.facebook.com/events/1116060108915686/
"According to the CDC the leading candidate for the next pandemic is a
