Welcome Back Ari. Another informative message. I don't know, if they don't believe Dr's,, Experts, Church leaders, the President, big names in entertainment etc, who can reach them? What super brain haven't we tried perhaps Dali Lama? It's a shame the likes of Bob Hope, Danny Thomas, MLK and others have passed on. P.S. - my horse owning friends are grumbling that worming time is coming up and their having trouble finding what they need. Come on people it's NOT meant for you. See you at 6pm Ari..

Ari, thanks for an excellent analysis of the America’s unusual vaccine challenge. I love your writing style - very well laid out, to the point and so easy to understand.

I like how Dr. Michael Osterholm categorized the unvaccinated people: vaccine hesitant and vaccine hostile. With these two categories, it might help in the discussion approach of trying to convince these group of people that vaccines do save lives. Same with the group of people that are anti-government.

I agree with Comedian Neil Brennan’s statement. I listened to him via the Breakfast Club YouTube when he was talking about vaccinations. People need to understand that because of the horrible past events like the Tuskegee experiment or the Nuremberg code, there are laws that are in place to protect the consumer…that is what the role of FDA is.

“The regrettable surge of Delta, and the new partial vaccine mandates, are adding attention and urgency to the push for higher vaccination rates.” - so very true but may I add the FDA approval of the Pfizer vaccine to this list too.

Hey Ari, congratulations to you and your team! It's not surprising that your show continues to be successful, even in time slot that wasn't always so popular. It's news, but never dry.

I have a staff of contact tracers and the majority of the people they contact are still sick during the call. What we found is that more people are willing after infection to get vaccinated and we explain when and where they can get their shot. Others are willing when family members or close friends were infected and got really ill. So when it becomes personal for them, we start to see some action. We still get those who aren't interested or who are combative, but the personal experience does do something. I think the description of vaccine hesitant and vaccine hostile is dead on. There is definitely a difference. Also, the Tuskegee experiment was very racist, but I feel some are confused by what actually happened. Treatment was not provided. Glad you got a vacation, but I am so selfishly happy you're back!

It's nice to hear (read) your voice again. Welcome back! At this point, it's hard to imagine who else can be convinced to take the shot. I've seen people give up tickets to live dance and music performances because they are required to show that proof of vaccination. You'd think there would be some incentive in that, to get back to some normalcy. Actually you'd think that protecting those around you would be incentive enough. Sigh.

Looking forward to The Beat tonight. And congrats on being the longest running show in the 6 pm slot on MSNBC! Bravo!!

Great information for those who need convincing. Unfortunately, that group of anti vaccine, anti mask, anti everything.the democrats suggest, will never be convinced. Thanks Ari, your writing is excellent.

Hi Ari! This is a great article, very detail, full of "FACTS". The truth is they don't have to starve because what they need is waiting for them, all they have to do is go get it if they are able. If they can't get to the vaccine, then make sure the vaccine get to them. To answer your question Ari, "some people are just refusing to eat". Imissed you, glad you're back!

There’s the saying “ when the student is ready the teacher will appear,” and it’s correct that no one can change you unless you want to change. Being supportive, non judgmental and patient along with providing facts when the person indicates ( verbally or non verbally) they are ready to hear them is logical and smart. Hard to do though when you want to jump up and down and say what’s the matter with you?! I agree with your approach and you have been doing a great job providing facts and dispelling falsehoods. For the hardliners though, I think they like and need their own false facts. Hopefully they will be a growing minority. It’s important to stay positive and hopeful. Thanks, Ari, and Happy Sukkot.

When Trump was president, he put out a lot of lies. Unfortunately, a cult of people decided to join his aversion to accept what science has proven to be true. Vaccines can save your life as it has in the past. Cannot get into school unless you have proof you have been vaccinated.

I just don't understand people that do not get the vaccinated if they don't have a doctors excuse. Our hospitals are full of the unexcused with covid-19.

I'm in favor of mandating the covid-19 vaccination wherever possible, but wish they would stop showing the actual injection on TV, it makes me squeamish and don't think it's helpful to encourage the vaccination. I get shots when necessary, but have never been able to watch myself or someone else get theirs.

Some other things that have been helpful in getting those who have not yet gotten vaccinated to get the vaccine, is the passport. Restrictions to places people want to go to, can increase vaccines.

It is worth stating that women are 4x more likely to have autoimmune disorders yet little research, actual diagnoses, effective and accessible treatments; no cure. After a year of long Covid, two months remission, the first Pfizer jab landed me in ER. No adult autism care in my city or region, no medical answers, no help available. We are moving cross-country to where adults with genetic developmental disorders can get genetic diagnoses so that these vaccines do not send us into anaphylactic shock. I suspect Mast Cell Activation Symdrome (MCAS) in my case, a common affliction for autists born into bodies assigned as female.

I fall into the category of those who cannot get a second vaccine and no doctors in my region can assist me. They don’t know enough. How many more hundreds of thousands of women are having to figure all of this out themselves with no help. 4x the number of men suffer autoimmune disease and mine we never diagnosed; I am 50.

Not everyone who has not gotten their second jab is refusing to get further protection. We need adequate doctors with knowledge of genetics. I cannot tell you how many supposedly legitimate medical institutions replied to my calls asking about adult autism in ways that demonstrate they think children grow out of their genetic developmental differences. Most health providers don’t have the foggiest idea that ASCs are a whole suite of developmental and neurodevelopmental genetic differences that can create a large number of health disorders of many kinds.

Here is a recent summary of research on autoimmune disorders in women / people assigned female at birth: https://www.cureus.com/articles/31952-the-prevalence-of-autoimmune-disorders-in-women-a-narrative-review

Had to comment on your vaccinated anger segment. Yes, it is so frustrating that for the past 18 months, my family has done everything.to protect ourselves from covid. We have been fully vaccinated since May, and still wear our masks. I agree with Howard Stern's comments. He said exactly what so many of us are thinking. Thanks Ari, great show tonight.
