President Biden, should move very quickly to fill the position, he has no time to waste

I believe Breyer announcing his retirement shows respect for the high court as theoretically a non partisan institution giving Biden an opportunity to make a thoughtful lifetime selection. I believe the hasty installation of RBGs replacement was patently a partisan power grab. I love the inclination to nominate a black woman to this Bench. Black women will bring a depth of life wisdom that is reflective of country’s diversity. It is about time.

I feel bad for President Biden, he sincerely thought he could work with the Senate Republicans. All the GOP wants to do is obstruct, obstruct, obstruct. They will definitely try very hard to derail this nomination as well. Manchin and Sinema can be a part of making history for the SCOTUS. Unless they side with the obstructionists. Great show tonight Ari, really enjoyed your guests, and your interview with Justice Breyer. Thanks!!!🙏

Excellent show on Justice Breyer and his work before Supreme Court and in Supreme Court.

I agree with your statement on Biden, “He can’t afford a sequel of the opaque, delayed process with Senators Sinema and Manchin over spending—and he can’t afford to “hope” a handful of Senate Republicans might make up for those two votes heading into the midterms.”

I hope that Biden will not face a lot of resistance with the nomination to replace Justice Breyer and I hope that he acts quickly to do this. It is long overdue to nominate a black woman as justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. We will see what happens…

Great show tonight with great guests as always😊

I do hope Biden replaces Stephen Breyer with a black woman, he knows what he is doing, and what he is up against, and as a few of the commenrs say, he has to move fast

Ari, a promise is a promise and President Biden is standing by his pledge to nominate a Black woman to the Supreme Court. There has been speculation that Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, Leondra Kruger, Sherrilyn Iffil, are great candidates. I am sure there are others. But we have to be sure that the selected candidate will be given the support and respect from Republicans as well as Democrats and not be held up like the last candidate under President Obama. My prayers are with Judge Stephen Breyer and his family for a happy and successful retirement. Thank you for your service, a job well done.

I admire him for standing his ground and making this decision on his own terms. I believe you do know in your gut and heart when a decision is right for you. Your point about Obama’s strategizing and it backfiring shows that it’s better to do the right thing and win or lose on that. Breyer will sadly be a major loss for the integrity of the Supreme Court. Hopefully Biden can honor his commitment and still do the right thing.

Well Ari..... I think I might watch your (MSNBC) show, as I've done for the past 29 days...this way I can guarantee...YOU'LL BE THE FIRST TO KNOW... AS USUAL :)

First of all Ari, who haven’t you interviewed? Seems you always have some relevant interview for todays news that you can pull from your archives.👍🏽 Mark of a good journalist who hustles to get the great stories.😉

I would like Biden to do a few things, stick to his campaign promise(a black female Supreme Court nominee), strike now while he can, & don’t play mister nice guy if the republicans or our two democratic holdouts (Manchin/Sinema) try to obstruct.

We need to balance the scales of justices!😊(hee, hee)

Keep doing what you do, keep doing you, that is why your viewers love you!🥰

Justice Breyer made His final decision in congruence with His Public Service—w: forbearance of what transpired with His dear Friend and Colleague—Justice Ginsberg.

WWJD…I mean-President Biden—MAKE IT COUNT! This isn’t the time to, as You said, work towards securing McConnell/Republicans, remind Dems that They already voted w/these AMPLY QUALIFIED WOMEN.

I rewatched Ari’s Interview w/the Honorable Justice Breyer and this hit…to the cheap seats—

“Bush v Gore—there were no riots, people accepted the results/didn’t like them…People said that decision effected Us a lot….but before you come to ‘violence’ as a conclusion—I would like you to turn on your television set & see what happens in Countries who resolve differences that way…..this document held 330 some-odd People w/different views=together. It says to resolve your differences, if you can, under Law-not through force

or in Court/House/Senate…in Your Community. Get involved”

Now, WE are witnessing, full circle what happens when Government was attempted to be taken by force/Coup….and Those that would “take” will be reprimanded under Law.

The court of Breyer's vanilla will be missed. He has always had smooth, good taste, and never any nasty surprises. I will miss him. I hope while the President is Biden his time will allow him an opportunity to replace a different black Justice.

And while I'm at it, it was MSNBC who first alerted me to the fact that Gov DeSantis is a large stockholder in Regeneron. I hope that gets mentioned on the network the next time his advocacy for that company's monoclonal antibody comes up.

I think that Biden should definitely pick a black woman for this. The Supreme Court needs another woman and he has several black women to pick from. Hopefully the negative Republicans who want to run the country won't object. I honestly think that is why #45 got in office. The Republicans knew that he knew nothing about running a country so they could get whatever they wanted done. They seem to have forgotten this country is a Democracy. I hope Biden picks his replacement fast. I think that the time for Republican rule is over.

Biden's pick must signal a radical reversal from McConnell's picks. I wonder if a voting record is enough. Bush appointed that numbskull Clarence Thomas to the regret of an entire nation.

I love the idea of a black women for Biden’s pick. I feel it’s important especially when Biden said he had their back after becoming President. I just hope with all the division in this country this doesn’t become another issue. We don’t need that now. I just want something to be peaceful. ✌️

President Biden will move quickly maybe less than 27 days.
