Here’s what I think about Tacopina’s defense of Trump. Have you seen Trump lately? His weariness tells me that HE knows Tacopina doesn’t have a defense. It was evidenced by his attacks on the “justice system” and “Cohen being a convicted liar and having a credibility problem.” It is a repeated phrase by legal analysts and commentators about Michael Cohen. However, but for Cohen’s testimony in the congressional hearing (2018), there would be no New York cases against Trump for anything, I believe. The legal community questioned if Cohen would flip; once he flipped and went to jail, he now, has no credibility. Well, prosecutors don’t flip the innocents, they flip accomplices, co-conspirators, and yes--Criminals! Ask Weisselberg!
Further, Democrats keep worrying about the country “becoming” devided, should Trump be charged. Only Democrats speak to such fear; Republicans only mention it to stroke that fear. It suggests a hesitancy and feebleness, in pursuing justice.

Hello, V! You are so kind! Politics and social events were fiercely discussed in my family. Recall, I shared that we had to read major events stories, give a synopsis of the story, before my father gave us the comic strips. I once met our current HHS Secretary, when he was still in congress. He was introducing himself and said, you don’t know me—I interrupted him, called him by name and told him where his district was located. He was shocked! He was an asset to Democrats. People who work hard and are interesting, I read about them, to get a feel for who they are. As much as I enjoy interacting in this setting, I wouldn’t dare take on such a role of doing a newsletter. Thanks Nancy and Diane. I, too, enjoy reading what you guys have to say. I think we all fall along the same spectrum. Rachel had a blog years ago, manned by her producer, Steve Benen. Was sad when it went away. And yes, Ari (and a few others) brings sanity to their stories. I must say, Nicolle Wallace won me over—didn’t trust her, at first, coming from that Bush/Rove administration, but she impressed me, when I was watching The View. She is my voice on her show-asks all the right questions and isn’t afraid to challenge and to push back against the power, legal guys or whomever! I’m glad to be part of this “Beat” family!😂❤️
Same here with Nicole... my first major dive into politics was the Hanging Chad. I was actually quite upset that our President was “not very smart”. I stood in line for 4 hours to vote against him. When that election was such a mess I swore I would be much more informed. I was informed but not nearly enough. When “hell froze over” in 2016, I joined Twitter. I got so much more involved. I did not trust Nicole because of where she stood - in the Repugnant party line. I finally listened one day and realized she was not a tRUMP fan. Now I enjoy her show. Before going to streaming I waited for Rachel & loved her show. That is why I was there when The Beat started. I was a fan girl from the first show - A show that made me think, a super cool Ari Melber as host and MUSIC. I have listened, watched and learned. Now I can add that I have “met” a lot of intelligent, caring and wise people who share my love of The Beat!

But Ari did a masterful job on him. Did you notice his hands shaking while he was trying to come up with an answer? How are you? I started reading the conversation with you and Pamela, it's no wonder we all get along.. We all have alot in common. I so understand your mom. I was an only child too. My parents thought they couldn't have children, so when I was born I was their miracle child. They were very overprotective of me. So I was very sheltered. I didn't leave home until I got married. I too have a very close relationship with my children. But I was a bit too lenient with them. They turned out ok😂

Through Kdrama, I’ve discovered Huh Gak, Ha Hyun Sang; John Park (American). Huh Gak is my favorite, such a fabulous voice! Last Saturday , I attended a KPLAY FEST, searching for music, but only found one CD seller. I was too unfamiliar with the artists she had, and didn’t want to make the drive the next day, when she’d bring the ones I liked.😩 But sometimes, I bring it home to Stevie, Jackie Wilson or Della Reese. Those times, become more about the era, opposed to the singer. This wasn’t supposed to be a busy day, but it was! Here’s to a happy weekend, that you have already started!😂💛🎼
Hi V. I wasn’t being smart or proactive. I changed my Internet provider, started to see different verbiage, couldn’t remove; was trying to donate to ACLU and the whole thing just went kaput—HELLLP! All was okay! While there, informed of the class, so thought I could benefit. Really did learn some workings of the phone for easier access and maneuvers. Hi Pamela 🖐 I'm a little late to your question. But on the weekends I avoid the news. Our cable provider has Music Choice channels. My go to is Easy Listening instrumental music. Some of the other channels have songs from the 60s 70s 80s, 90s and other genres. So I alternate somtimes.. I have soundtrack CDs from movies, and .musical theater . So I will play some of those too. I got really great news today from my doctor so either more upbeat or low down dirty beat tonight! 😂 I also do classic rock to feel better - I makes you get up & dance. To me late 60s to end of the 70s music was awesome. There was more inclusivity….which makes my really dislike the way boooks are being banned And I am quite sure music, dancing and anything fun will die in Florida! On that upbeat note I will go drink my pretend champagne 🥂 and say I am freakin heart healthy!!!

You are right. The country is already divided. I doubt if it could get more divided. I think there is a possibility that it will be less divided if Trump is proven guilty of crimes in a court of law with a verdict from a jury.
Hi David S.! I agree, the country has some issues, but I’m not one who believes the country is that divided. You know who else believe that? Republicans! That’s why they come with all the fear tactics. Generally, the country is aligned about healthcare, the environment, standards of living, veterans care, education, etc. But when one is repeatedly told, they are victims when those provisions are provided to “others,” then blinded anger and divisions are created.

He started after midnight saying, “potential death and destruction,” if charged in the NY case. That’s a threat that should have gotten him arrested, along with the (bat) picture; however, Bragg should just wait until he’s arrested and pile up all the charges…So glad his aides must now testify!

Quite honestly: There are far more pressing issues compared to Ari’s wardrobe. He is comfortable in his own skin, whether anyone likes what he wears or not. If you would come and discuss the topics, I’m sure people would be happy to chat with you. When someone challenges you or disagrees, the last thing you should do is call them names, or say something hateful about how, when & where they live.
Ari is, it seems, plenty occupied and not a lot of free time plus he has a LOT of viewers everywhere. He has taken us to the Grammys! He has spoken to many people that can fix or ruin our lives with the stroke of a pen. He gives us the TRUTH and that is a hell of a lot more important than what he may or may not wear.
Other people are not rude .. I have found most people here are here to know more about what happens in government.

Rap is an acquired taste!! It's not my favorite genre of music but I'm learning to pay attention to it because of Ari bringing it to the forefront--the dialogue is real and insightful into what's going on today--so I became a fan--I think what I didn't care for about rap was it was to sing songy to me--I now have a greater respect for what the artist is trying to tell us--welcome to the Beat!! Hey Brit,. The rap/hip hop genre wasn't my cup of tea. But after over 5 years of watching Ari use the lyrics to make a point, I have warmed up to it. At first I would only read through the lyrics, because I simply didn't care for the music. But I have listen to few performances, and I actually understood the message of the song.

Once again, you handled a questionable figure masterfully. Thanks to your razor sharp interview skills with Navarro, the Jan 6 committee had important incriminating evidence in their hands. Gayle, I hate to tell you this, but Tacopina has been around for years. In the early 2000s, he was on tv frequently. He’s a high-power lawyer and is great at what he does. I think he’s doing it as a favor, probably due to friendship (just my take when I saw him). He presents in a thuggish fashion--it’s who he is. But in this case, he’s up a tree! Hopefully, no one gives Joe an opening, or Trump will walk!
Yes, after I wrote this I looked him up and saw some of the others that he had represented, including JayZ and Kimberly Guilfoyle. There's a contradiction in terms, right? But he came across as a thug and he may be great as he has won lots of cases, but he has a loser for a client in this one.

And, I cannot help but believe he was scraping the sludge off the bottom of the barrel in referencing a "confidentiality agreement" relative to the reporter asking trump about Stormy-gate, and the "No" answer, simply trying to justify trump's obvious lie. It may have been a "legal" answer to your question, but it sure sounded sleezy to me. I guess I'm accustomed to your straight-forward outlining of the fact /evidence that the rest of us have to deal with. About all I can say further is that if it is in fact a "Gemini" tatoo on Tacopina's right arm/wrist, it fits - he's a fast talker to say the least, and Gemini is the sign of communication. His problem is that communication is a two way street.

I thought Tacopina's "defense" is pretty thin gruel and kind of grasping at straws (if not pieces of paper). One of the things Trump lawyers seem to have in common is that very little of what they say makes any sense, but that's just my simple-minded opinion. Juries and judges may well have the last word on that.

I thought Trumps lawyer was talking pretty fast and that always makes me wonder if people are lying when they do that. Many of the republicans that were involved in some way with the 1/6 plot are fast talkers as well.

Yes, every time you have a rght wing mouthpiece, I tend to cringe, but you are ready with your receipts, and your interviews become must see TV. Your interview with Tacopina was no exception. He was so arrogant and tried his best to muddy the evidence waters. His flip floppy answers were so ridiculous. But his viral childish behavior was epic. We were laughing out loud, and could not believe he was actually trying to snatch your "receipts " away from you. 😅

I’ve never seen anyone grab at the host’s documents or interview material, as Tacopina. I still want Stephen Miller to be investigated for what he did to those families crossing the southern border. And to hear recently that some were found in the Midwest doing slave labor-12 yrs old? I said from the beginning, that’s what that administration was doing. The legal community questioned if Cohen would flip; once he flipped and went to jail, he now, has no credibility. Well, prosecutors don’t flip the innocents, they flip accomplices, co-conspirators, and yes--Criminals! Ask Weisselberg!
Further, Democrats keep worrying about the country “becoming” devided, should Trump be charged. Only Democrats speak to such fear; Republicans only mention it to stroke that fear. It suggests a hesitancy and feebleness, in pursuing justice.

Hello, V! You are so kind! Politics and social events were fiercely discussed in my family. Recall, I shared that we had to read major events stories, give a synopsis of the story, before my father gave us the comic strips. I once met our current HHS Secretary, when he was still in congress. He was introducing himself and said, you don’t know me—I interrupted him, called him by name and told him where his district was located. He was shocked! He was an asset to Democrats. People who work hard and are interesting, I read about them, to get a feel for who they are. As much as I enjoy interacting in this setting, I wouldn’t dare take on such a role of doing a newsletter. Was sad when it went away. And yes, Ari (and a few others) brings sanity to their stories. I must say, Nicolle Wallace won me over—didn’t trust her, at first, coming from that Bush/Rove administration, but she impressed me, when I was watching The View. She is my voice on her show-asks all the right questions and isn’t afraid to challenge and to push back against the power, legal guys or whomever! I’m glad to be part of this “Beat” family!😂❤️
Same here with Nicole... my first major dive into politics was the Hanging Chad. I was actually quite upset that our President was “not very smart”. I stood in line for 4 hours to vote against him. When that election was such a mess I swore I would be much more informed. I was informed but not nearly enough. When “hell froze over” in 2016, I joined Twitter. I got so much more involved. I did not trust Nicole because of where she stood - in the Repugnant party line. I finally listened one day and realized she was not a tRUMP fan. Now I enjoy her show. Before going to streaming I waited for Rachel & loved her show. That is why I was there when The Beat started. I was a fan girl from the first show - A show that made me think, a super cool Ari Melber as host and MUSIC. I have listened, watched and learned. Now I can add that I have “met” a lot of intelligent, caring and wise people who share my love of The Beat!

My parents thought they couldn't have children, so when I was born I was their miracle child. They were very overprotective of me. So I was very sheltered. I didn't leave home until I got married. Through Kdrama, I’ve discovered Huh Gak, Ha Hyun Sang; John Park (American). Huh Gak is my favorite, such a fabulous voice! Last Saturday , I attended a KPLAY FEST, searching for music, but only found one CD seller. I was too unfamiliar with the artists she had, and didn’t want to make the drive the next day, when she’d bring the ones I liked.😩 But sometimes, I bring it home to Stevie, Jackie Wilson or Della Reese. Those times, become more about the era, opposed to the singer. This wasn’t supposed to be a busy day, but it was! Here’s to a happy weekend, that you have already started!😂💛🎼

All was okay! While there, informed of the class, so thought I could benefit. Really did learn some workings of the phone for easier access and maneuvers. Hi Pamela 🖐 I'm a little late to your question. But on the weekends I avoid the news. Our cable provider has Music Choice channels. My go to is Easy Listening instrumental music. Some of the other channels have songs from the 60s 70s 80s, 90s and other genres. So I alternate somtimes.. I have soundtrack CDs from movies, and .musical theater . So I will play some of those too. I got really great news today from my doctor so either more upbeat or low down dirty beat tonight! 😂 I also do classic rock to feel better - I makes you get up & dance. To me late 60s to end of the 70s music was awesome. There was more inclusivity….which makes my really dislike the way boooks are being banned And I am quite sure music, dancing and anything fun will die in Florida! You are right. The country is already divided. I doubt if it could get more divided. I think there is a possibility that it will be less divided if Trump is proven guilty of crimes in a court of law with a verdict from a jury.
Hi David S.! I agree, the country has some issues, but I’m not one who believes the country is that divided. You know who else believe that? Republicans! That’s why they come with all the fear tactics. Generally, the country is aligned about healthcare, the environment, standards of living, veterans care, education, etc. But when one is repeatedly told, they are victims when those provisions are provided to “others,” then blinded anger and divisions are created.

He started after midnight saying, “potential death and destruction,” if charged in the NY case. That’s a threat that should have gotten him arrested, along with the (bat) picture; however, Bragg should just wait until he’s arrested and pile up all the charges…So glad his aides must now testify!
BTW- we do need respect for the country & Decent people need to replace all of the KKK, Proud Boys, and all of those Hate Groups in government now. They will do ANYTHING to stay in government. Quite honestly: There are far more pressing issues compared to Ari’s wardrobe. He is comfortable in his own skin, whether anyone likes what he wears or not. If you would come and discuss the topics, I’m sure people would be happy to chat with you. When someone challenges you or disagrees, the last thing you should do is call them names, or say something hateful about how, when & where they live.
Ari is, it seems, plenty occupied and not a lot of free time plus he has a LOT of viewers everywhere. He has taken us to the Grammys! He has spoken to many people that can fix or ruin our lives with the stroke of a pen. He gives us the TRUTH and that is a hell of a lot more important than what he may or may not wear.

I watch "The Beat with Ari Melber" almost daily, he is utterly brilliant. I live in Glasgow, Scotland. Only thing I dislike is the stupid rap.
Rap is an acquired taste!! It's not my favorite genre of music but I'm learning to pay attention to it because of Ari bringing it to the forefront--the dialogue is real and insightful into what's going on today--so I became a fan--I think what I didn't care for about rap was it was to sing songy to me--I now have a greater respect for what the artist is trying to tell us--welcome to the Beat!! Hey Brit,. The rap/hip hop genre wasn't my cup of tea. But after over 5 years of watching Ari use the lyrics to make a point, I have warmed up to it. At first I would only read through the lyrics, because I simply didn't care for the music. But I have listen to few performances, and I actually understood the message of the song.
I’m no expert here, but this is how an expert trial attorney conducts himself? His reaching to take the evidence out of your hands says plenty. Once again, you handled a questionable figure masterfully. Thanks to your razor sharp interview skills with Navarro, the Jan 6 committee had important incriminating evidence in their hands. Does the DA’s office have any new incriminating evidence to use now? Gayle, I hate to tell you this, but Tacopina has been around for years. In the early 2000s, he was on tv frequently. He’s a high-power lawyer and is great at what he does. I think he’s doing it as a favor, probably due to friendship (just my take when I saw him). He presents in a thuggish fashion--it’s who he is. But in this case, he’s up a tree! Hopefully, no one gives Joe an opening, or Trump will walk!
Yes, after I wrote this I looked him up and saw some of the others that he had represented, including JayZ and Kimberly Guilfoyle. There's a contradiction in terms, right? But he came across as a thug and he may be great as he has won lots of cases, but he has a loser for a client in this one.

Ari - you are amazing! I have only said that to one other person and in a different context, so you are in a very exclusive club! What you did to Tacopina should go down in history as a class video for all future law students -- as an example of what a serious Defense Attorney should NOT be.

I thought Tacopina's "defense" is pretty thin gruel and kind of grasping at straws (if not pieces of paper). One of the things Trump lawyers seem to have in common is that very little of what they say makes any sense, but that's just my simple-minded opinion. Juries and judges may well have the last word on that.

Yes, every time you have a rght wing mouthpiece, I tend to cringe, but you are ready with your receipts, and your interviews become must see TV. Your interview with Tacopina was no exception. He was so arrogant and tried his best to muddy the evidence waters. His flip floppy answers were so ridiculous. But his viral childish behavior was epic. I’ve never seen anyone grab at the host’s documents or interview material, as Tacopina. I still want Stephen Miller to be investigated for what he did to those families crossing the southern border.
