I appreciate how you explain the law in a way that’s understandable to the average person. In my experience most lawyers rarely if ever give a comprehensive explanation of a legal concept they’re willing to stand behind. LEGAL RESEARCH & WRITING should be a prerequisite course in high school. I appreciate that you do that. Stephanie Ruhl does that as well regard the complex financial industry.

A sincere thank you to the both of you.

I, too, am a realist. For many reasons, personal and professional, I strive to be pointed AND diplomatic in my tone AND words. People listen and are more likely influenced in that vein. Appreciate your reporting and perspective. 🙏🏻❤️🇺🇸🌏

This is the BEST of your interviews I’ve seen. Of course, at 80, I could finish many of her sentences. Certainly I agreed with many of her opinions and statements, and had no trouble understanding all of her statements. Again, Ari, you have a remarkable gift in your interviews, a wonderful empathy that comforts all being interviewed. The best part for me was when she talked about the Supreme Court. I feel exactly the way she described.

Fran’s comments on being judgmental are the most inspiring things I’ve heard in years. I’m heartened by the notion that being judgmental (and I admit to being frequently so) can be a force for positivity and good. Too bad people around me don’t beg to hear my judgments as frequently as I spontaneously offer them.

Hey Ari:) This was great! She made many valid points, especially when she speaks about Republicans caring only about keeping the power they have right now, and nothing else, reminds me of the movie, It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World? Directed by Stanley Kramer. “A group of motorists hear about a crook's hidden stash of loot and race against each other across the country to get to it.” Reminiscent to me of what’s happening in the Republican Party right now.

Ari, I'm always surprised to learn that there are still optimists in the world and that you are one of them! Like Fran I'm a realist (as well as a pessimist) although I still have faith in children, plants, and birds. Maybe dogs. I struggle to believe that this human experiment on planet Earth will not destroy all that is beautiful and once deemed sacred by wisdom traditions. January 6th, which ironically occurred on the Feast of the Epiphany when allegedly the Wiseman came in search of the Messiah, was a wake-up call to the GOP who pretend to stand for law, order, and family values. Fran is definitely someone who speaks the truth be it considered negative or realistic. The tragic nature of life besides dying is that human beings do horrible things sometime with so-called honorable intentions. But I'm grateful for your optimism because I'm your biggest fan!

This was wonderful Thank you Ari! I'll have to search for the lightning round elsewhere; it cut off before then for me. It's true anyone in Lincoln Nebraska might really adore this conversation that is so New York City. So thankful for the net, and highest best use principles.

Wait! I forgot to ask about the how-could-you-not-be-positive-while-holding-that-adorable-dog on your lap. How can I arrange a play date?

It matters not whether she is a realist or taking poetic license, she speaks the truth. And more ofter than not when someone speaks the truth, it's not easy to digest. A bit off the subject, your show yesterday was exceptional. Another truth some find hard to fathom. Until the country accepts the fact that there are less than honorable in that blue line. and as such they must be held accountable. Let the good guys do what they do well.

Thanks for enlightening your audience with the truth every day,

Bethany

I think Fran is a realist who takes poetic license. Those ideas can live together. It's what makes her such a stunning humorist. And sometimes it's what makes it hard for people to hear her, being confronted by that harsh realism. I love her for that. And I love how you keep on finding ways to wake people up or keep people awake 😉

I think all of the shows should repeat this simple statement as often as they can. ...remember repeating things works for pushing lies so let's try it out with the truth

Just say :

"all of this is happening because Donald Trump has never, in his entire life, been MAN ENOUGH to admit when he has been defeated or to congratulate his opponent"

I think that if you say that often enough it will not only infuriate him but it will ring true even with his own supporters who all know like everyone else that he always lies he always exaggerate and he always cheats. I think then they will see that our country is going through all this because he simply cannot admit he lost, and that is not a very manly way to be

Thank you

Hey "Ari - love the move by Chuck in front of Mitch - you ask what song should be attached - I think "Can't touch this" by M C Hammer is appropriate.

Thank you, Ari, for this interview, for the segments of it that you aired on "The Beat," recently, as well as for your commentary on this very interesting, engaging conversation. I think that Fran is a realist, indeed, but that does not necessarily exclude the taking of poetic license...in fact, I think that such realism may necessitate that taking! I have read some of her work, and enjoyed "Pretend It's a City" on Netflix. Your interview with her reminded me that I have much of her universe of work yet to take in, which adds an extra-interesting, and, I'll say it, entertaining, even though it may be, at times, all-too-real in its realism, twist to my reading list to round out the summer! Thanks again, for this interview, and always, for your optimism! As a loyal #Beatnik, I appreciate how that optimism (along with doses of reality--and a bar or two dropped, as needed!) brings a much-needed ray of hope, if you will, to what can otherwise be some pretty bleak times. We appreciate you!

Definitely the appropriate song is Move by Ludicris. I can’t believe Dropthemic told you this 20 hours earlier and I was not number one on Thursday 8/5/21.
