The difference between a fad and a foundational art form is persistence and profundity. Hip hop held a mirror up to society to show us the truth, but that would have been fleeting had pioneers like Lyor Cohen and Kevin Liles not been there with the metaphorical Windex to keep the mirror reflecting.

This is a very interesting newsletter and you are very knowledgeable about Hip Hop… learning from you😃

I didn’t know the Kevin Liles wrote “Girl You Know It’s True” for Milli Vanilli. To those saying that Hip Hop is a fad, too bad that they didn’t see what Kevin and Lyor saw about the future of Hip Hop and the artists.

Have a nice weekend, Ari😃

I learned something new about HipHop, thank you - never heard of 300 Entertainment. I think there’s a lack thereof concerning the talent, it’s absolutely about the $$$. I hope they continue in their core values, we got work to do!

Most of our anxiety or suffering comes from resisting what is: and mainly resisting our truth, because we judge that it’s not acceptable…

I think so. One needs to believe in his “product” before one can sell it with honesty.

I think supporting and caring for the people you advise and/or represent, rather than using or exploiting them, is why Lyor and Kevin were and are so successful. It’s true in any of the arts, in any profession and in life in general. They also appreciated the potential of a new genre in music, and had the courage and discipline to nurture the artists. I admire their integrity and independence. Thanks for spotlighting this.

Talented artists are looking for a path to success. They need good business advice and guidance to take their performances to the next level. A good advisor is someone who has had the experience with the music industry. Hopefully they can be a good influence and mentor these musicians to success.🎤🎹🎼

first of all Ari, the pictures of you and the various artist are very nice. Your question about whether art help you see the future? yes art help all of us to see the future. Art promotes creativity, encourages neutral connection, develops problem solving for some. With the future of art, new ideas that may integrate new technology will continue to bring changes. Social networks will increase the discoverability of art. With art and music, self confidence is one of the greatest benefits. What you see, what you feel and how you are able to bring those feeling out and share it means a lot. Dedication and persistence is the key. Colors, or sounds are so important. In the end you hope others will appreciate it..

Yes, Ari, perseverance is key. "...pursue the things you love doing and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off of you.” - Maya Angelou

I think so, especially if the artist is young. A lil guidance never hurt anybody.

The power of the mind is so diverse - as business is to creativity. Somehow, there is a connection here only when there is respect and empathy - a learned intelligence for both. Then we have truth and honesty - and a blooming relationship.
