What a bizarre irony. Do we tolerate living with gun violence when mass shooters use military grade weapons designed to ensure that we don’t live. I wonder what is the GOP end game - kill off everyone who disagrees? No we need not tolerate this. Adding more guns to this cluster f___ won’t solve anything. I don’t know why we tolerate this carnage. I for the life of me don’t understand why we worship guns more than people. I believe we have to keep fighting for sensible gun regulations. I believe assault style military weapons need to be banned again.

Until Republicans decide that the lives of children are more important than NRA blood money and keeping angry single issue gun lovers on their side nothing will change. And the only way to make Republicans change is for them to feel the pain of electoral defeat. Stop accepting Republican inevitability in Texas or Oklahoma or Iowa or any red state. Make every election about dead children. Make every election about the carnage not in big blue cities like New York, but about small red towns like Uvalde, Texas and small red cities like Charleston. Make Republicans answer for children murdered in a classroom, shoppers murdered on Aisle 5, churchgoers murdered in the sanctuary. And stop accepting bullshit answers about mental health, video games and the Second Amendment. Republicans have blood on their hands, make them pay for it.

It does not take a genius to know there is more to the recent shooting in Texas than an angry 18 year old. Governor Abbot and the Texas legislature put the assault gun in this 18 year old's hands. They are the adults and should be held accountable. Indiana Governor Holcomb just signed an "open carry law" into law. This signing was against the advise of police security advisors. Recent comments by the governor indicate he does not intend reconsidering his signing and commented that "this is the world we live in" Yes, thanks to government officials like Holcomb, this is the world we live in.

It's actually pretty transparent: can the members of the human species who care about decency and integrity and respect and empathy and its very survival figure out what they need to do in order to overcome the ability that sociopaths (who, in case anyone needs to understand, lack all of those qualities) have to gain and hold power and control over our destiny? Laws, yes -> but it's bigger than that - it's about our basic fabric as humans.

Maybe these Senators in the Republican party need to think back to January 6th where they were all running for cover or hiding behind desks. Maybe they need to consider that if they do not do something and a member of their family is faced with the heartbreak these parents and families now have to face they will do something to stop this. There is no citizen in America that needs an assault weapon. There should be complete and total investigation of anyone wanting to buy a gun. If it takes a lot of time then so be it. We are having a gun show in my city this weekend and they should cancel it. We all need to stand up for total gun control and those Senators who oppose it should be removed from office. Our children should not be afraid to go to school and should not have to see their classmates die at the hands of some violent person that is mad at the world. People with mental issues need help not guns.

Yes, I agree.

However, and as cruel as it may sound, we also need a law/regulation to say that a State (e.g., Texas) will not be entitled to federal assistance in the aftermath of gun violence unless it acts in good faith to comply with and abide by federal policies regarding control of firearms and weapons of mass violence. Abott's "sanctuary state" effort must yield to federal preemption or he pays for and cleans up his own mess with his own funds and resources. National unity is one thing. Tough love is another. 2nd Amendment "rights" carry a corresponding "duty" to protect the lives and property of others.

Ari the only thing we can do is VOTE the Republican idiots out. It's understood that the Media HAD to cover what happened in Texas this week and you guys have done an excellent job. That being said, we NEED to hear some results about the Primaries that took place the day of the shooting. We NEED to know who to NOT vote for in a few months. Now is the time to talk about how evil these guys are. Now is the time we all can, and should, do what Beto O'Rourke did. We, all of us Dems, need to speak NOW so we don't have to say, in November "Would a, could a, should a" Time for the Dems in Congress to get off their butts an fight as though they were Republicans. Our LEADER in the SENATE spoke like a tiny mouse when he should have been roaring like the group who yelled at Beto. Only thing to say about our Democratic leadership right now is WTF !!!! It's up to us now....we can do it. Have a nice long weekend Ari.

The cowardly act of killingly children or anyone for that matter is an ugly truth our country has to face. However there are more cowards than the gun man, our politicians who block bills that could at least try to curb these acts.

No we do not have to let our society devolve to savage acts of violence. We will not live with it but EVERYONE has to do their part regardless of your political persuasion, your race, your gender, your whatever. One day it will be your loved one, in the grocery store, in the house of worship, at the gas station, walking down the street, that is gun down by another senseless act.

Vote these cowards out of office, pay attention to what our politicians believe in, vote for, and say, your life, the lives of our loved ones, and the civility of our country depends on us!

Finally what do other countries do? Such as the UK? They have immigrants, they have crime ( just to be clear not equating the two), the have guns, yet not all of their police officers carry weapons while patrolling the neighborhoods. Can we learn from other countries?

Then let me give a shout out to you Ari for keeping it together when reporting such horrifically sad news! If I lived in NYC I’d take you out for a drink after work! Bourbon?🥃 Stay safe, recharge, stay well. AND thank you!🥰🙏🏽

Good Morning...Ari i have been watching your show since my daughter passed in 2018...just popped up one afternoon as i was changing channels and since then i watch it every day. I believe that you are an honest reporter and every one you bring to your show always have a clear explanation on all topics. Now reading your email today i could not agree with you more & thank you for always saying what you feel. I receive daily lots of emails from democrats (please know i am a democrat now and voted for Biden) talking about issues sometimes that truly don't have priority to the American people. and on top of that i get bombarded with emails asking for donations?- well!...Today i responded to like 3 emails maybe a bit upset to all those emails and told them to tell Biden to stop saying we have to act now...Just to tell him to get his shit together and take the filibuster out and GET THINGS DONE!> Im so very tired of hearing from politicians " You are in our thoughts and prayers"...is like a sentence without any meaning. There's not a day that goes by that at night i kiss my daughters photo good night and tears roll down my face because of how much i miss her....but Tuesday night i broke down in tears not for my daughter this time, but for all those children that died this terrible way ...for the mothers that their hearts have been broken for ever and their pain. IF DEMOCRATS DONT TAKE THE LEAD NOW AND GET THIS DONE - NOT SURE THIS EVENTS WILL EVER STOP??. I appreciate the platform to say what's in my heart. Thanks

Emmet Till's mother insisted on an open casket so people could see what the murderers did to her son. We don't have recognizable bodies for Robb, so I think pictures of those bloody rooms should be sent to every single congress person who voted against safe gun reform bills.

Hi Ari and Happy Almost Fri-YAY! It is so hard to be upbeat especially after the back to back mass shooting events. So sad and so heartbreaking 💔

Money and power are the root of all evil. I will never ever accept nothing can be done about this constant mass shooting.

To the GQP members, useless and good for nothing government officials, guns takes precedence over human lives. They are ok with sacrificing people’s lives including children.

Do you think the current, rising rate of gun violence is something we should have to live with?

No absolutely not…we should never ever accept or normalize mass shootings.

If developed countries like Canada, New Zealand, Scotland, Australia are able to ban assault weapons, we can do it too. The U.S. are no different from these countries.

What else do you think can be done?

We need to vote for people that truly want to work for the people. I hope that people are paying attention to who is truly for the American people and against the American people.

As far as I know all the GQP members are not working for the Americans and do not want to work for the Americans. They will rather sell their souls to guns and power than putting a stop to this mass shooting madness.

The ship of “thoughts and prayers” have sailed.

What is hurting us badly is the margin between Democrats and GQP in the Senate is very small. And this stupid filibuster - this filibuster shenanigans needs to be obsoleted.

With this kind of atrocity such as mass shooting, there should a way to bypass all these protocols and technicalities and do something, anything.

Question: can President Biden just create an executive order for gun control?

If no action is taken to eliminate mass shooting, then the U.S government is a charlatan. There’s absolutely no need, zero need for anyone in this country to possess a fireman like the AR-15 or any assault weapon for that matter.

Electoral defeat and kill the filibuster.

Beto O’Rourke had it exactly right when after the El Paso nightmare he so wisely said “Hell yea we’re coming for your guns!” We should have listened then and done the right thing! Ban all assault guns, large magazines and have a real time background check for people buying guns of any kind. This HAS TO STOP 🛑
