Hi, it’s Ari. Sign up for my newsletter!
This is Ari from MSNBC. If you’re here, you may know me from anchoring “The Beat,” or legal reporting? I’m a journalist, published writer, and lawyer. However you got here, I invite you to…

Facts
This is my best “one-stop shop” to get my reporting, writing, dispatches on news, law, culture, music — plus some more casual stuff.
Generally, my work focuses on news, law, policy and politics, with an eye on evidence — what we actually know, how to weigh it — and the belief that reporting and facts still matter. Sometimes, I draw on culture and history to try to make sense of the world today. Also lyrics.
For this newsletter, I write original journalistic pieces, and some more personal essays about culture and music.
Everyone can get the news pieces — signing up for the entire newsletter provides access to all the editions, including culture essays and extra items I share with full subscribers. I also do an annual Zoom call that’s only for full subscribers. Which is fun.
Many people find this newsletter format is special, because it really enables us to connect directly.
It’s not filtered through a “social media corporation,” with its own agenda and algorithms. There are no distorted “incentives” or clickbait here, just me writing for the people who have chosen to be readers. It’s actually pretty Old School, if you think about it… It’s me, Ari, sending you the emails; and sharing my work as I go, and replying to (some of) your comments. (I write each piece, with editing and contributions from my colleague, Calder McHugh.)
If you’ve never tried one of these email newsletters before, you may still wonder “how this works.” It’s just an email list. You are not committing to any larger project here. You can just click subscribe, and I email you the newsletter entries. That’s it. (Here are past posts.) My emails will hit your inbox, like literally any other email.
Thanks for your interest, and for supporting my work in any way that you do, I truly appreciate it. Thank you!
