Peter Navarro Admits the Coup -- Our New Interview

"Do you realize you are describing a coup?"

Trump White House aide Peter Navarro just admitted a plot to try to steal the 2020 election.

On live TV.

In a new interview on The Beat.

Navarro had a plan, with Trump and Steve Bannon, to overthrow Biden’s victory, and when I asked him to explain it, he said:

We had over 100 congressmen and senators… ready to implement “The Sweep” — we were going to challenge the the results of the election, in the six battleground states... those states would decertify the election, that would throw the election to the House of Representatives.

Navarro admits the illicit goal — overthrow the election.

He admits the method — seize control of the Congressional process, then enlist state Republicans to challenge the results. (Specifically, the ploy was to abuse a part of the Constitution that empowers the House to pick the President, in the instance where there is no clear winner with an Electoral College majority.)

I asked Navarro if he realized he was describing a coup.

He denied the term, but continued to admit a coup plot — where the losing party in an election tries to abuse authority to remain in power. He also implicated other Republicans, alleging that Ted Cruz and Paul Gosar were “perfectly” deploying this plan, while he thinks the violence of the insurrection actually set them back.

There is value to gathering this evidence from an insider like Navarro. He is a “fact witness,” at a minimum, to plans that ran alongside some major crimes.
